The Tale of Paper: A Journey from Childhood Dreams to Artistic Creation
The Tale of Paper: A Journey from Childhood Dreams to Artistic Creation When I was a child, there was a paper mill near our neighborhood that produced thick, coarse sheets of paper. These sheets were dried and later used to make sweet boxes. Whenever drops of water or paint fell on that rough paper, a magical scene would unfold before my eyes. That simple yet captivating memory deeply fascinated me. From then on, paper was no longer just a functional material to me—it became a boundless canvas of creativity. When I joined the fine arts institute, I discovered various types of paper—art paper, Curtis paper, embossed paper. But the true inspiration came when I was introduced to the process of handmade paper. The first time I crafted paper with my own hands, it felt as though those colorful childhood memories had returned to life. Each touch of my hands seemed to breathe life into the paper. After completing my studies, I embarked on a new chapter as a handmade paper project designer at an American research organization. Over 14 years, I learned how to create paper from locally sourced materials—jute, wheat straw, pineapple leaves, coconut fiber, recycled paper, and cotton waste. This process was more than just work for me; it transformed the way I viewed art. To me, art is not limited to painting on a canvas. It is the act of crafting paper through processes that lies at the heart of my creative journey. Each shade and texture carries its own story. From breaking down fibers to blending colors and creating a canvas, every step of the papermaking process brings me closer to discovering new dimensions of creativity. The beauty of paper lies in its texture. Through the language of texture, the earthy scent, and the vibrant hues, I aim to paint an intimate refletion of nature itself.

My handmade paper making Garment Waste
Can harm the environment, especially through garment waste. Biodegradable clothing or garment waste can release chemicals into the air and soil, which may contaminate groundwater and surface water. In our country, many garment factories generate a large amount of textile waste due to improper labor management, posing significant environmental risks. Instead of properly utilizing this waste, factories sell it at low prices to local retailers. Some of the waste is burned, producing harmful smoke, which is a
major cause of environmental pollution.
By recycling garment waste into paper, we can significantly reduce environ mental risks and contribute to a more sustainable future.
