Tajane Vanovac Sesar – Biography
Tajane Vanovac Sesar (born 1982) is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative journey is profoundly shaped by resilience, transformation, and the enduring power of art as a means of survival and healing.
She studied at the School of Design and Modeling in Sarajevo, later continuing her academic path in Psychology in Mostar. During this period, with the support of the Consulate General of Türkiye, she co-founded the Kaymek Educational Institute, reflecting her long-standing commitment to education, cultural exchange, and social engagement.
Since 2018, Tajane has lived and worked on the island of Šolta, Croatia, where she continues a creative practice that first sustained her during her childhood amid the war in Sarajevo. For Tajane, art represents a passage to her personal “Island of Avalon” — a symbolic space of imagination, freedom, introspection, and healing. Her work bridges memory and renewal, trauma and beauty, the personal and the universal.
Her artistic language is deeply rooted in nature, psychology, and inner landscapes, often exploring themes of identity, transformation, femininity, and spiritual resilience. Through visual art and artistic jewelry, she transforms lived experience into poetic expression, inviting viewers into a contemplative dialogue with emotion and form.
