Since I was a child, I had a profound love for the still arts.
The flowers that bloomed in my mother’s garden, drew my inspiration and filled my imagination with the beauty of colour.
With the encouragement of my family, I excelled at a young age at various forms of artistic expression, including hand stitching,
manual crafts and oil painting.
My first oil on canvas painting, that won me a gold medal at a young age, still hangs in my family’s dining room.
As an adult, I explored my love of flowers and nature and delved into various art forms to express this beauty.
I worked with ceramics to re-create rose bushes, and jasmine flowers. I worked with silk tissue to bring life to pansies and tulips.
I drew delicate paintings of elaborate details on silk fabric stretched over canvas.
My silk paintings had garnered me enough attention in Jordan, where I had managed to exhibit my artwork.
I eventually landed in North America and that is where I was introduced to the art of quilling.
For the last 20 years or so, quilling had become a constant presence in my life.
The small strips of paper filled every room, and beautiful flowers started coming to life.
And through various books and online resources, I self-taught myself this delicate and intricate art, until it became my obsession.
Once I mastered the art, I started to look around me for inspiration and a new muse.
The natural flowers in Canada are extravagantly beautiful and the more I lived there, the more I wanted to re-create this beauty with
the art of quilling. This inspiration drove me to produce my latest works of art: grand portraits of the beauty of flowers in bloom.
My latest exhibit has recently been a great success at the World Art Fair Dubai 2015, and INDEX Dubai 2015.
